A New Wave

You must have heard by now about the outpouring of God in Florida at the Todd Bentley meetings. If not, I'd encourage you to read the testimonies.

Todd Bentley came to Los Angeles this past week. Gana and I went to the meetings along with my parents and a friend from Fuller. What the Lord did was amazing! We saw about 300 people receive salvation. Many people were delivered from bondages such as homosexuality, eating disorders, anger, etc. Many people were healed--even from terminal illnesses.

And now I can change number 9 on my 101 Things About Me list! See, I have grown up in Pentecostal/charismatic churches, but I absolutely refuse to courtesy fall for anyone. Not that I did not desire the gift, I did! But, I wanted an authentic experience. Well, on Sunday night at the Galen Center, I got it! It was great! The Lord spoke some very important things to me, that I hope I get to share one day.

Some have criticized this (and other) moves of God.

Last night I heard James Goll speak. He told a very interesting story. He said years ago he was in a meeting with Jill Austin and she was doing her "fire" thing (said James as he imitated her jerking and calling on the fire of God. She was in the service last night, too, by the way). He had never seen anything like it and he thought it was strange. He wasn't sure about it.

And God spoke to him and said:

"Jump in the middle of it.

If you can't jump in the middle of it, at least bless it.

If you can't bless it, at least patiently observe it.

If you can't patiently observe it, at least do not stretch out the rod of your tongue against that which you do not understand."
