Notice God's unutterable waste of saints, according to the judgment of the world. God plants His saints in the most useless places. We say - God intends me to be here because I am so useful. Jesus never estimated His life along the line of the greatest use. God puts His saints where they will glorify Him, and we are no judges at all of where that is. ~Oswald Chambers, My Utmost For His Highest, August 10

The Wild Rumpus

The night Max wore his wolf suit
and made mischief of one kind and another......
We love family time.  We just like being together...sometimes all in a pile.
Even though we are always all together, we try to have special  family time at least once a week.  Last week we came home from church, grilled out and then spent the afternoon in a pile watching Where The Wild Things Are, complete with paper crowns for all the kings and queens and princes and princesses of wild things.

We finished the evening with peach cobbler and homemade amaretto whipped cream.

Sitting there, cuddled on the basement couch with my husband and children, laughing, wearing goofy hats, and eating yummy things, there is great contentment.  It's times like these that I wish I could put in a bottle in order to enjoy their sweetness anytime I want, even when my kids are grown and out in the world doing whatever wild things the Lord leads them to do.  I sometimes wish there was a pause button for life.  I would like to freeze moments like these and savor them a little bit longer.

The happiest moments of my life
have been the few which I have passed at home
in the bosom of my family.

Ordinary Days

This exactly fits my mood and meditations lately.  A perfect continuation from this post.

Before you hit play, get your handkerchief.  If you click play before you do so, don't say I didn't warn you.

The Best Mother's Day Ever

What else could a mother ask for on Mother's Day than to see her daughter on the platform prophetically painting for worship?

3 John 1:4
"I have no greater joy
than to hear that my children
are walking in the truth."

(Please forgive so many shots of essentially the same thing, but I'm a proud Mama and didn't post all 25 or so pictures.  Please put up with the seven I am posting.)

Our family in the front row....close to the action.

SO REMEMBER YOUR PEOPLE
REMEMBER YOUR CHILDREN
REMEMBER YOUR PROMISE O GOD!

For those that did not know, Meg has been taking art lessons since August.  We are so proud of her creativity, her heart for worship and her passion for Jesus!  She has talent, that's for sure.  (Thank you to Gina, her instructor for lovingly teaching her!)  But, even more than that we love to see her being free in worship.  As she painted during the worship service, she would stop now and then, lift her hands and just worship.  That blessed me the most.  It's not all about the art; it's all about Jesus.

[rephrase: Upon pondering my closing sentence, I think it is rather: "The best art is all about Jesus."  Amen?!]

Resisting Temptation

"No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."  I Corinthians 10:13

Especially for TiTi

This has become our favorite morning worship song--starting our mornings out right! We recorded this today for TiTi. Enjoy!

An afternoon in Santa Monica

"We're in Santa Monica!  Everyone make a crazy face so we blend in!"

My sweet friend, Ariunaa!  Not afraid to stand on the dragon's head!

Luc said, "Help Mom!  I've been stabbed!"

Riding a carosel never gets old to me.  I guess I'm just an old-fashioned kind of girl.
