Notice God's unutterable waste of saints, according to the judgment of the world. God plants His saints in the most useless places. We say - God intends me to be here because I am so useful. Jesus never estimated His life along the line of the greatest use. God puts His saints where they will glorify Him, and we are no judges at all of where that is. ~Oswald Chambers, My Utmost For His Highest, August 10

Some Classical Education

Want a little something to recite at your next dinner party? Better yet, teach your homeschooled children to recite and impress the hosts! Here are some helpful Latin phrases I recently stumbled upon.

Non calor sed umor est qui nobis incommodat.
It's not the heat, it's the humidity.

Caesar si viveret, ad remum dareris.

If Caesar were alive, you'd be chained to an oar.

(At a poetry reading)
Nullo metro compositum est.
It doesn't rhyme.

Non curo. Si metrum non habet, non est poema.
I don't care. If it doesn't rhyme, it isn't a poem.

Antiquis temporibus, nati tibi similes in rupibus ventosissimis exponebantur ad necem.
In the good old days, children like you were left to perish on windswept crags.

Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materia possit materiari?

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

A little more Latin for ya...

"Hic Habitat Felicitas"

~ Here Lives Happiness

It's my favorite. It also reminds me of you! You are so blessed with your growing brood...I think you epitomize this!
