Notice God's unutterable waste of saints, according to the judgment of the world. God plants His saints in the most useless places. We say - God intends me to be here because I am so useful. Jesus never estimated His life along the line of the greatest use. God puts His saints where they will glorify Him, and we are no judges at all of where that is. ~Oswald Chambers, My Utmost For His Highest, August 10

International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church

This Sunday is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. Our most recent poll asked if you have heard of or would be observing this day. Here are the results:

30% heard about it, but aren't doing anything to observe it
53% have not heard about it
and tied for 7% each is "Yes, we are observing it" and "There's a persecuted Church?"

I really hope that last one is from a new reader! If you are not aware that there are Christians suffering for having faith in Jesus, take this little test.

Please observe this day. If you can, ask your church or pastor to pray as a congregation. If nothing else, gather your family and friends together and pray together for the Church! Here's a website with resources and a downloadable powerpoint presentation. International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church.

Remember that we are to remember those in chains, AS IF BOUND WITH THEM! Hebrews 13:3.
